The good side of my test results

Well, yesterday I finally got all my results back from the lab, everything was posted online for me to see … and even when the results showed I have an underactive thyroid everything else was great! And that just goes to show that I have been definitely doing a great thing for my health!

Since I can remember I’ve always had high triglycerides, even when I was 11 yrs. old! I always thought that was “my normal” … I was a “healthy girl” I wasn’t even overweight… so the high triglyceride levels must have been just that “it was me” … well… something I never did was exercise though… even when I was very young I never engaged in any physical activity so when I saw all my results yesterday I was definitely expecting to see “the usual” very high triglycerides, borderline high cholesterol, etc… well… I was shocked when for the first time in my life all my numbers were IDEAL! everything was well within the normal range and the good cholesterol was great as well! I couldn’t believe it! I am so happy to see these results that just prove that my hard work even if it hasn’t all showed on the scale/mirror because of the thyroid problem it’s definitely improved my health a great deal! I guess I truly am the “Thin Lady Inside” 🙂

Today… well… I already did my weigh-in… and again, didn’t lose or gain an ounce… I am exactly the same, 181 pounds… But definitely feeling encouraged!

  1. What a relief to know that all you have been doing this past year has at least made you healthier! Hopefully you’ll start seeing a decrease in your weight soon, too!

  2. I’m glad everything is great with your blood test. It’s good to know that your efforts are producing results where it ‘really’ counts! Keep it up … everything you are doing is not wasted effort. The number on the scale will catch up! I know you can do it!! God Bless!

  3. Often I feel we all become obsessed with the number on the scale and how we look. However health is the most important factor, because without health we have nothing. I’m really glad the all your efforts have been for something, also slim isn’t a synonym for healthy however I think alot of people believe it is. Also if it wasn’t for this journey you are on, you would probably still be muddling along with an under active thyroid. So that is something else a healthy lifestyle has given you. Keep it up, and try not to be fixated by the number on the scale, have you tried getting your body fat measured thats a more accurate and work while measurement than weight. I guess measuring yourself is also a good proxy for that. Rah x

    • It is hard not to obsess with it, right? For me, being slim sure has something to do with being healthy, because I know my body and I know where I should be… right now… I am just beginning my battle with my thyroid and I hope I can get that under control soon so I can keep losing the extra weight! Thank you so much for sharing and for your encouragement! 🙂
